One State Films and Alabama-born writer/producer/director Robert Clem are based in New York and Alabama and produce feature length dramatic and documentary films as well as shorter works. Primary focus is on stories about the South and specifically Alabama, exploring its history, politics, music, literature and people.

Projects in production in 2019-2020 include Alabama Black Belt Blues, a musical journey into the past and present, produced in cooperation with Alabama Public Television; Sink the Alabama, a film about the 22-month rampage during the Civil War of the British-built "pirate ship" CSS Alabama; and a re-release of the award-winning 1997 documentary Big Jim Folsom: The Two Faces of Populism, about the barnstorming Alabama governor who preached black voting rights and equal opportunity in the 1940s and 50s. In the Wake of the Assassins is currently enjoying a run on Amazon Prime while the critically acclaimed How They Got Over and a newly cut HD version of Company K are upcoming.
